There’s something endlessly romantic about San Francisco – the golden light, the coastal breeze, and the way the city feels both grand and intimate all at once. This San Francisco engagement session with Leslie and Marc captured all of that and more. From the elegant architecture and beauty of the Palace of Fine Arts to the windswept shores of the famous Baker Beach, their love story unfolded beautifully against two of the city’s most iconic backdrops. Each image feels soft, genuine, and full of that unmistakable “love by the bay” glow.
A Romantic Start at the Palace of Fine Arts
When Leslie and Marc booked me for their wedding, they asked if we could do their engagement session in San Francisco — and of course, my answer was an immediate yes! I love exploring new locations beyond my usual Southern California favorites, and San Francisco is such a romantic, inspiring place for engagement photos.
They chose two of the city’s most iconic spots: the Palace of Fine Arts and Baker Beach – the perfect mix of timeless architecture and coastal charm (plus, those unbeatable Golden Gate Bridge views) and since my oldest is currently at UC Berkeley – go Bears, I also had the best assistant along for the day.
If you know anything about San Francisco weather, you know that fog can roll in fast, especially by Baker Beach. We were ALL crossing our fingers for a clear evening, and while the famous fog did make an appearance, it still gave us that dreamy light and a perfect peek at the red bridge in the distance. I can’t wait to celebrate with Leslie and Marc again for their upcoming wedding at Bel-Air Bay Club!
