This romantic Malibu engagement session at Leo Carrillo Beach was everything I love about photographing couples by the ocean – that soft golden light, pastel skies, and that dreamy California coastline. We wandered up and down the gorgeous beach before heading by the water just as the sun began to set. The way the light wraps around the beach in the evening feels pure magic.

Maria & Connor wanted their session to feel natural and romantic – nothing too posed, just them and maybe a few photos with their sweet dog, Kygo. Between their laughter, Kygo running in & out of the waves and the quiet in-between looks, every photo felt like a glimpse into their story. These are always some of my favorite parts of a session, when the laughter fades into calm and the couple just melts into the setting. Leo Carrillo has this peaceful energy at sunset that makes those sitting-on-the-sand moments feel effortless and romantic.
